Dr. Juhl received her BS in Pharmacy from the University of Pittsburgh, PharmD degree from the University of Cincinnati and completed an ASHP accredited residency at Bethesda Hospitals in Cincinnati, Ohio. She then spent several years as the education director of clinical pharmacology in a family practice residency program. Afterward, she was appointed to the position as director of pharmacy in an academic medical center for 10 years and also served as a clinician in geriatrics and geriatric psychiatry. During this period, was also promoted to a clinical administrator, where she was responsible for several hospital departments, ambulatory care programs, and physician consult services. Dr. Juhl joined Pfizer in 1994 as a Clinical Education Consultant and later served as a Team Manager for this division. In 1998, she joined Pfizer’s Medical Division as a Medical & Research Specialist.
The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) has named Renée as a Fellow in this organization and appointed her to serve a third, three year term as a member of the Editorial Review Board of the journal, The Consultant Pharmacist. She was also appointed to a three year term as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Medical Directors Association Foundation. Her expertise in drug utilization review has also led to committee appointments in both state- and private-funded prescription drug programs. Dr. Juhl has held faculty positions in pharmacy and medical schools and remains an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. She also has numerous presentations and publications.
